Optimized 8x8 Calling Experience for Citrix Environment
If you’re an 8x8 Work user in the Citrix environment, you expect the Work app to perform like any other app, with no difference in quality. As communications standards continue to climb, delivering media streams without optimization for virtualized environments can cause massive issues and frustration for users. Fortunately, 8x8 is now a Citrix ReadyTM Unified Communications Premium partner. With this certification, users are assured of the best audio quality while using 8x8 Work in the Citrix environment.
Citrix-certified for optimal quality
By leveraging the latest Citrix UC Premium optimization technology via the Citrix WebRTC SDK, the 8x8 Work app interfaces directly with the Citrix virtualization stack, which remotes our WebRTC API calls to the Chromium media engine inside the Citrix Workspace app. This allows us to minimize the number of network hops and optimize the delivery of audio between callers, and fewer hops means fewer issues with audio quality. What does this mean to Citrix users?
With this certification, users are assured of the best audio quality while using 8x8 Work in the Citrix environment. What’s more, 8x8 Work provides secure and enterprise-grade telephony features at your fingertips, including:
- Unlimited calling, SMS, and fax. Tap into cloud-based calling to cut costs and give your employees more tools to collaborate with colleagues and support customers. Reach co-workers with a click and your customers with their local phone numbers. You can also manage your faxes in the cloud - view and download in the app or forward in email.
- Visual voicemail. If you cannot listen to the voicemail right away or prefer to use a transcript, visual voicemail offers an alternative to check your voicemail.
- Auto attendant. An auto attendant acts as an automated receptionist allowing you to create a great caller experience. You can shorten the time required for a caller to reach the right people within your organization.
- Call Forwarding and Transfers. Set your own forwarding rules to customize what happens when an incoming call arrives. You can directly transfer a call to an extension (cold transfer) or speak with the person you want to send a call to before you initiate a transfer (warm transfer).
