Creating memorable online event experiences
Founded in 2020, Veertly enables meaningful connections online. The company sees social engagement and interactions among attendees as being the key to creating the most memorable experiences.
Today, companies use Veertly to create customized video and live stream events with the flexibility of embedding other website and apps, alongside a wealth of collaboration tools.
Veertly believes it provides a 10x better networking experience for attendees at online events, which can range from online as well as hybrid conferences, to company meet-ups and workshops.
The platform is popular with enterprise customers as well as events organizers, who can also purchase a white label service and brand it themselves. Veertly sells worldwide but 70% of its customers are in Europe, where the platform’s GDPR data privacy capabilities are seen as a major advantage.
The challenge: Need to scale quickly
Veertly was still in its early days when the pandemic emerged across Europe early last year. However, market demand was surging for enhanced interactive experiences.
Built on the open source version of Jitsi, Veertly’s online events platform gained traction quickly. But success presented some challenges.
“We were spending hours setting up and managing instances, and handling updates when we actually wanted to focus on the core of what we do — the online event experience itself”, explains Veertly Co-Founder Alexander Spahn.
The solution: Partnership approach pays off
Veertly required an easier way to scale rapidly and free up time for its small team. The company found the perfect partner in 8x8 and its breakthrough Jitsi as a Service platform.
“With 8x8, we knew we were at the start of an exciting and different kind of partnership. And that’s exactly how it’s worked out,” says Spahn. “Instead of a provider telling what we could have — in a take-it-or-leave-it fashion — they were open to our ideas and we started building something remarkable together.”
