Keeping you Safe in an Emergency with Nomadic 911
Nomadic 911 is a feature available in the United States and Canada that enables an Emergency Response Location (ERL) to be automatically updated as a device or endpoint (associated with 8x8 Work) moves from one distinct location to another. In the event that an emergency call is made from the user’s properly registered endpoint, Nomadic 911 will detect the caller’s detailed location information and connect them directly to a public safety answering point (PSAP) or local emergency services call center. This helps emergency responders locate callers faster and minimizes delays if a call comes from an office building or a large university campus.
While the Nomadic 911 service is available to all 8x8 X Series customers, each customer's 8x8 Work service must be individually enabled for the Nomadic 911 service. To enable Nomadic 911 for your 8x8 service, please open an 8x8 Support case or speak to your 8x8 sales representative.

Ray Baum’s Act, which went into effect in January of 2022, requires that on-premises, non-fixed devices and off-premises devices (devices like UCaaS soft client or IP phones) enable the automated determination of dispatchable location for 911 calls where technically feasible. The term ‘dispatchable location’ means the caller’s validated street address, plus any additional information needed to pinpoint the caller’s location, which can include a suite or apartment number.
